A note from the Broker:
In 2015, after years of working on my family farm, I made a difficult decision to start afresh and begin a career in real estate. The market was bouncing back and the Tampa Bay area was experiencing significant growth in the residential market — and commercial real estate also was on the rise. I had recently earned a Business Marketing diploma from the University of South Florida, so I applied to multiple brokerages. Within days I interviewed with Coldwell Banker Commercial’s Dee Maret CCIM. It was quickly apparent working for Dee was the right fit. Dee was quick to invite me to networking events and always pointed me in the right direction to make myself successful. He was never shy to share his wealth of knowledge.
After a year of building my personal business I learned first-hand the value of partnering. In 2017, I joined with a veteran teammate — Dan Huntington and moved to St Petersburg to launch the Bridgewater Commercial Team and represent property owners throughout Tampa Bay. It quickly became apparent there was a niche to be filled by a St. Pete boutique firm that offered top-shelf service and truly focused on what is always best for the client. I knew the timing was right and earned my Broker’s license in 2018.
I decided to fill that niche and resigned from Coldwell Banker at the close of 2018 and launched Bridgewater Commercial Real Estate, LLC in downtown St Petersburg. I am fortunate to be joined by two mentors. Dee Maret, who had resigned as a national director for Coldwell Banker Commercial to return to commercial sales and my sales teammate, Dan Huntington.
I also learned that Laura Guroian, owner of the popular Evermore Café in Largo, had earned her real estate license and wanted to specialize in commercial. She had watched Dan and I lease her friend’s shopping center and wanted to join Bridgewater. I knew she would be a great fit for our tight-knit group. Soon thereafter, Dan’s wife Patty, affiliated too. She specializes in residential investment properties. We now have a basketball team – or at least the starting five.
